Working like a Dog!

That's a good thing, right! I am working on a great, new website project for Paws Gourmet! Love their stuff and I think this new site is going to be FAB! Can't wait to show it off! :)

(I LOVE Logo Lounge!}

Back in 2007 I had the honor of having a sub-brand logo that I created for Paws Gourmet Inc., selected by Logo Lounge to be published in LogoLounge 3: 2,000 International Identities by Leading Designers (v. 3).

The publication is a compilation of logos created by "top designers and design firms" from around the globe. All the logos were judged by a professional panel of seasoned designers, art and creative directors and design firm owners including Bill Gardner of Gardner Design who founded LogoLounge.com in 2002. Each Logo Lounge book represents the best of thousands of new logos that have been added to the resource website, approximately every year and a half, that ultimately provides designers with real time quality comparative visual material as a source of inspiration and creativity.

It is undoubtedly an honor to be selected for this publication and recognized by your peers and virtual mentors. To many of us, getting selected for this book is one of the great logo design hallmarks of achievement, earning high creative and technical kudos. It's pretty exciting!

This achievement eventually changed the visual identity of the company it was created for. The logo that was selected by the judging committee for Logo Lounge (shown left), "Pastry Pawrty", was originally a sub-brand logo for a service the gourmet dog treat supply company was attempting to launch. Paws Gourmet Inc. corporate logo (seen above) was updated in 2008 to capture it's new company focus of being a full-service gourmet dog treat bakery. So everything worked out grandly!

I am so excited to begin working toward submission of many new logos in the future. When submitting this logo particular logo, I had only submitted 3 others. Not bad odds when you consider that the site is home to more than 110,000 logos and counting each day!

{Back in the Saddle Again!}

Nearly 7 years ago, I was approached by a prior co-worker about doing a logo for her start-up business venture. The timing was impeccable. I was just weeks from having my first child and very much wanted the opportunity to stay at home with my new baby as much as I could while beginning to live out my long-term goal of working for myself as an independent designer. Naturally, I took the job. To my delight, that job led to many that followed for that company as well as many others. It opened doors and sparked my creativity and passion for design much like college had.

Fast forward to today: after some life transition, another child and cross-country move, I am back in the saddle and ready to start in on this dream of mine again. Recently another left-field offer has come my way, and I am excited for the opportunity and so thrilled, that again, at a time when I was already planning to move forward on this route, fate is again telling me "it's time". Time to share with everyone, my skills, talents, and passion for design. I am looking forward to sharing this journey and inspirations for what I do with you!
